Frequently Asked Questions

What is Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)?

Platelet Rich Plasma, or “Liquid Gold” as we like to call it, is the perfect solution to stimulate cell growth within the body. The patient’s blood is drawn, processed, and then used for treatment. The amazing benefits of PRP can be used to stimulate hair growth, diminish the appearance of scarring, encourage the body’s production of collagen, and much more.

How does PRP work?

Plasma is a component of our blood and contains proteins which help the blood to clot and support cell growth. Platelets are found within the blood and are responsible for recognizing and repairing damaged cells by forming a plug, or clot. PRP Treatments use the body’s own healing processes to rejuvenate the skin and promote new cell growth.

During treatment, a member of our experienced and trained staff will draw blood from your arm. The small vial of blood will be placed and spun in a centrifuge to separate the red blood cells from the plasma. This process concentrates the platelet count to about 4x the normal amount. The platelet rich plasma is then applied topically or injected into the skin for treatment. PRP has been shown to help fade darkness under eyes, provide natural facial volume restoration, and even help with hair loss when injected in to the scalp.

What is Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF)?

JG Noir Aesthetics Aesthetics uses the latest generation of Smart Blood Concentrates to generate Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) which is a complex Fibrin Matrix rich in Platelets, Leukocytes and Mesenchymal stem cells. For a prolonged period of time following the injection, this results in the continuous release of Growth factors and interleukins which accelerate tissue healing and regenerating processes. This 100% autologous rejuvenation technique is a substantial progress from the well-established PRP (or Platelet-Rich Plasma) technique where growth factors are released for a shorter period following treatment. This is all natural. There is no coating, additive or anticoagulant present in the tubes and it is proven to release a higher concentration of growth factors for a longer period of time.

In Cosmetic surgery, PRF is used to accelerate the wound healing process and reduce scarring. In Aesthetics, PRF is used to alone or in combination with collagen induction therapy to treat:

  1. Hair loss

  2. Dark circles

  3. Acne scarring

  4. Wrinkles and fine lines

  5. Tear throughs and deep folds

  6. Brown spots (face, neck, décolleté)

  7. Volume loss and symmetry adjustment

Pre-care Instructions and Relative Contraindications:

This treatment is highly dependable on the level of hydration of the patient (patients need to start hydration process 72 hours before treatment). Patients who smoke may have less response to this treatment.

PRF is effective in most cases; no guarantees can be made that a specific patient will benefit from this procedure which is why a consultation is so important. Additionally, the nature of this cosmetic procedure may require a patient to return for numerous visits in order to achieve the desired results or to determine whether PRF may not be completely effective at treating the particular condition. The average patient needs about 3-4 treatment sessions separated by 4-6 weeks and the final result won’t be readily visible for 4-9 months.

Treatment Breakdown:

  1. You may take pain medication such as Tylenol.

  2. A numbing cream is applied to the area of treatment.

  3. Approximately 13-52cc of whole blood is drawn from your arm.

  4. The tubes of blood are centrifuged to separate the component cells.

  5. Platelets, Leukocytes and Mesenchymal stem cells are separated and used for this procedure.

  6. The liquid is then transferred into a syringe and injected using a tiny needle.

How much does a PRP/PRF Treatment cost?

PRP/PRF Treatments vary in price. However, to achieve optimal results, you may need a series of 3-4 treatments. See our PRP/PRF page for more info.

When will I see results?

Noticeable results are visible within 4-9 months.

How long do results lasts?

Results from PRP/PRF Treatments are expected to be long-lasting, though results may vary from person to person.

How many treatments will I need?

The number of treatments varies from person to person, but on average, we recommend 3-4 treatment sessions separated by 4-6 weeks then 1-2 treatments per year for maintenance.

Will I need time to recover?

For injections, bruising and swelling is possible, plan 2 weeks ahead of any events/vacations.

For microneedling with PRP/PRF, recovery lasts from 1-2 days with reddened skin, no peeling.

What is Botox? What is Xeomin? What is Dysport? How are they different?

Botox, Xeomin and Dysport are both used to treat and prevent wrinkles, fine lines, and deep facial furrows. By working beneath the surface, Botox, Xeomin and Dysport help reduce the underlying muscle activity that causes the skin to appear wrinkled or folded.  Dysport is very similar to Botox and Xeomin – similar price and duration, but kicks in a little quicker.

How much does Botox/Xeomin/Dysport cost?

Botox and Xeomin generally cost more per unit than Dysport. However, more units of Dysport are needed per treatment area.  Thus, the costs for all three generally average out to be the same.

When will I see results?

Peak results are seen in 14 days.

How long do results last?

Results from Botox, Xeomin and Dysport are not permanent. Effects usually last 2-4 months.

How many treatments will I need?

Botox, Xeomin and Dysport will only need one single treatment to show results. However, results last 2-4 months, therefore treatments can continue upon this timeline for as long as the patient desires.

Will I need time to recover?

Bruising is possible, plan 2 weeks ahead of any events/vacations.

What is filler?

The facial dermal fillers used at JG Noir Aesthetics are made from hyaluronic acid. The use of fillers are known to eliminate wrinkles, plump and hydrate lips, replace volume loss, improve scar depressions, and volumize creases and folds of the face. As we age, our skin becomes more susceptible to wrinkles and fine lines, especially due to sun damage and muscle movement. Facial fillers provide a solution to such damage through facial injections.

When will I see results?

Results are visible immediately after treatment. The healing process then begins which involves swelling for about 3-7 days depending on the amount injected, area injected, and how your body reacts to the procedure. The product then settles and you’ll enjoy your final results about 2-3 weeks after injections. Please give yourself a minimum of 2 weeks before any events or vacations in case of residual bruising and swelling.

How long do results last?

JG Noir Aesthetics filler treatments differ from person to person and from treatment to treatment. Because the product is being injected into the body, some bodies may metabolize the product faster than others. See below for average JG Noir Aesthetics based on treatment:

  1. Cheek Filler: 9-18 months

  2. Under Eye Filler: 6-18 months

  3. Lip Filler: 6-12 months

  4. Hand Filler: 9-18 months

  5. Lower Face Filler: 9-18 months

  6. Neckline/Tech-Neck Filler: 6-9 months

  7. Jawline Filler: 9-18 months

  8. Chin Augmentation: 9-18 months

  9. Nasolabial Fold (Smile/Laugh Lines) Filler: 6-12 months

  10. Earlobe Filler: 9-18 months

  11. Temple Filler: 6-12 months

How many treatments will I need?

Facial fillers are a temporary solution, and therefore to maintain results, treatments will need to be administered on a recurring basis (see JG Noir Aesthetics info above).

Will I need time to recover?

Bruising is possible, plan 2 weeks ahead of any events/vacations.
