The Brains Behind the BEAUTY BUSINESS

Christie Black, DNP, CRNA

Meet Christie Black, DNP, CRNA. Christie is a doctorate-level Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with more than 20 years of experience in the medical field.

After graduating from the University of Central Arkansas with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN), Christie began her journey in the medical field working as an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nurse. She went on to earn a Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) in Nurse Anesthesia and Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) degrees from Arkansas State University. As an anesthesia provider, she gained and demonstrated valuable skills including epidurals, spinals, multiple regional blocks, and invasive line insertion, all requiring extensive knowledge of anatomy. After practicing anesthesia in both central and northeast Arkansas for several years, Christie was recruited to be the Assistant Program Director for the Arkansas State University MSN Nurse Anesthesia Program, where she earned her graduate and post-graduate degrees. In 2017, Christie was promoted to Program Administrator/Director of the Anesthesia program. During her tenure in academia as Program Administrator/Director, she successfully transitioned the Masters program to a Doctorate program, to further advance the rigor of the anesthesia program.

As an anesthesia provider and as an educator, Christie has always had a love for anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology and pharmacology, all of which are very important in the field of medical aesthetics.

Evidence-based practice is the foundation on which Christie practices and on which she teaches. Patient safety is her number one priority, and she diligently communicates this to students, other providers and her patients. She believes that vigilance and attention to detail is key to patient safety, and she advocates for this in all things medical.

Christie strives to build trusting and transparent relationships with her clients, by implementing the very foundational concepts that she has utilized and taught in the field of anesthesia for so long.

This mindset ensures that you will have a meticulous approach to your aesthetics treatment plan. Her advanced history in facial anatomy, pharmacology and years of experience with injections/procedures is certain to deliver a client-specific treatment plan that is just right for you. Christie takes pride in helping others feel good in both the field of anesthesia and the field of aesthetics. An anesthesia provider may help provide a patient with pain relief, but an aesthetics clinician can help rebuild the client’s confidence. Both educate and require continuous follow-up care, and both are exceptionally rewarding roles!

As a mother of two young boys and a woman in her 40s, Christie appreciates the bodily and mental changes that both men and women experience during the aging process. She feels passionate that self-image is of utmost importance in determining a person’s day-to-day activities and overall success in life. Christie values aesthetics, because she truly believes that when performed appropriately, aesthetics can boost confidence and self-esteem, thereby optimizing mental health and quality of life.

Christie and her staff value client relationships, so your journey begins with a consultation and individual needs assessment.  Book a consultation today, and you’ll walk away more knowledgeable and more confident with your aesthetic routines and treatment plans.

 The Inspiration Behind

J.G. Noir

J and G are the initials for two of the loves in Christie’s life, her two young boys. They keep her feeling young and also remind her why she started J.G. Noir: to be the best version of herself for her family.  Noir is the French word for black, Christie’s last name and one of her favorite colors. The color black represents strength, sophistication, intelligence, power, and elegance. The “little black dress” is a classic piece of attire that is timeless and always appropriate. These are the attributes that we want for our clients.
